Esperanza’s ESPG Digital Gold Wins Outstanding Tokenized Architecture and Solution at the ET Net FinTech Awards 2025/26
Recognised in the Blockchain Solution category, on Cyberport’s nomination

Hong Kong, 27 October 2026
Esperanza¹ has won Outstanding Tokenized Architecture and Solution at the ET Net FinTech Awards 2025/26, for ESPG digital gold². Tony Chang, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, received the award in the Blockchain Solution category today at The St. Regis Hong Kong. Esperanza entered on a nomination from Cyberport.
The FinTech Awards are organised by ET Net, a member of the Hong Kong Economic Times Holdings, and co-organised by Cyberport, Hong Kong’s government-owned digital technology flagship, for the ninth year running. Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po is this year’s officiating guest. Entries are judged by a panel led by Dr Winnie Tang, MH, JP, Founder and Honorary President of the Smart City Consortium, whose members include Legislative Council Member the Hon Duncan Chiu. Past winners include Bank of China (Hong Kong), Hang Seng Bank and China Construction Bank (Asia).
The winning entry, “ESPG Gold Club, Powered by Blockchain”, takes Hong Kong’s traditional gold instalment club online. Clients save in any amount, move ESPG between verified accounts in seconds, and redeem 100,000 ESPG for a 1 kg gold bar.
The architecture behind it is what the award recognises. Every ESPG is recorded on a public blockchain, and the smart contract, audited by Quantstamp, carries the compliance controls itself: the issuer can pause transfers or block an address, and every such action is logged on-chain. Only verified clients can hold ESPG. The gold sits at Brink’s Hong Kong, and an independent Hong Kong CPA firm counts the bars every quarter against the custodian’s records.
“Hong Kong families trusted gold instalment clubs for generations because they trusted the paper receipt,” said Tony Chang, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer of Esperanza. “ESPG keeps that trust and replaces the paper: every unit on a public ledger, every bar counted each quarter, and a real bar at the end. We thank ET Net and the judges, and Cyberport for putting us forward.”
