"Tokenised gold" is three words short of its real name. The missing words — "investment fund" — are the difference between metal you can hold and a unit you may never redeem for the bar.
Next time someone says "tokenised gold," ask them the product's full name. If they can't finish it, they can't tell you whether there's metal behind the token — or just a fund unit dressed up as one.
